3D Chats Minus Headsets
⊲ CNET ⊳ Google has introduced a new video chat platform called Google Beam, which aims to make virtual meetings feel more like in-person interactions. Using six cameras, AI and depth sensors, Beam creates in real time a 3D image of the person speaking, allowing for realistic head tracking and lifelike visuals without the need for special glasses. This technology, an upgrade from Google Starline, is designed to improve communication by addressing common video call issues, such as reading facial expressions. Aimed at enterprise users, the first Beam devices are expected to be available for early adopters in late 2025.
