HoloLens 2 Support To End

The Verge | Microsoft discontinued its HoloLens 2 headset production on December 10, 2023 and now will only provide security updates until the end of 2027. Despite abandoning new hardware development, Microsoft remains committed to mixed reality projects through software and military contracts, including the US Army’s IVAS project, alongside a partnership with Anduril Industries. Although future consumer-facing hardware is uncertain, Microsoft continues to explore opportunities in the mixed reality space.
