Open Source 3D Engine Advances

Phoronix ⊳ The Open 3D Foundation (O3DF) has announced the availability of Open 3D Engine (O3DE) 25.05.0. This open-source game and simulation engine, originally derived from Amazon’s Lumberyard, has received significant updates focusing on stability, performance, and user experience making it faster and easier to create games and simulations. It includes better graphics with Vulkan, smoother tools for making cinematic scenes, and support for robotics using ROS 2. VR support is improved, mobile performance is faster by up to 40%, and the help guides have been improved. Downloads and more details on the Open 3D Engine 25.05 release are via GitHub.
