AI Monitoring of Car Drivers
Smart Eye | Swedish human behaviour tracking technology company Smart Eye has signed a SEK 700 million contract to provide its advanced Driver Monitoring System (DMS) software to Volvo, Audi, Porsche, GM, and a new European OEM. This technology uses AI to monitor driver behaviour, enhancing safety by detecting signs of drowsiness, distraction, or inattention. The system is part of Smart Eye’s broader suite of Human Insight AI solutions, which includes eye-tracking and interior sensing technologies. As of July 7, 2024, the EU requires all new type-approved vehicles in the EU to be equipped with advanced driver distraction detection to enhance safety. This mandate extends to all new vehicles from July 7, 2026.
