Augmented Skies for Real Pilots

FlightGlobal ⊳ US defence tech company Red 6 intends to begin production of its Advanced Tactical Augmented Reality System (ATARS) by mid‑2026. Touted as a software‑centric augmented reality visor, the system overlays virtual aircraft, terrain and environmental effects directly in real cockpits. It will debut with USAF T‑38C trainers and later expand to F‑16, F‑22, F‑35, and rotary‑wing platforms. The technology has already undergone evaluation flights with the RAF’s Hawk T2, and Red 6 is working with Boeing and Leonardo on further integrations.
