Haptics and Buttons for VR Experience

Road to VR ⊳ Sharp has introduced a prototype VR controller in Japan that combines haptic feedback with traditional buttons. This controller features special tactile elements on the fingertips to help users feel different textures through various vibration patterns. While it does not provide detailed finger tracking or temperature feedback, it aims to function like a standard controller with sticks and buttons. Currently, the device is in testing phases, with pre-registrations priced at ¥100,000 (about $680), but its commercial release remains uncertain. At one time Sharp was the top display supplier for Meta Quest 2.
