HoloLens Lives on in Logistics

⊲ TechRadar ⊳ The US Air Force has found an unexpected military use for Microsoft’s HoloLens headsets, deploying them to help load and balance aircraft cargo. Originally envisaged for battlefield use by the US Army, the technology was shelved after users reported headaches and eye strain. Now the 724th Air Mobility Squadron in Italy uses the technology to allow a qualified airman, sitting behind a laptop anywhere in the world, to guide on-the-ground personnel through cargo inspections in real time, using visual cues overlaid through the headset.
