Ireland’s Disease Model Praised Internationally

⊲ TechCentral.ie ⊳ Researchers at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics in Ireland have won the Jay Wright Forrester Award for their paper “An age‑cohort simulation model for generating Covid‑19 scenarios: A study from Ireland’s pandemic response”. Their paper, published in February 2024, presented an age-cohort simulation model that helped inform Ireland’s pandemic response by projecting disease incidence and aiding policy analysis. They developed a system dynamics model with IEMAG which projected disease incidence and informed public health policy during changing pandemic conditions (mutations, vaccine rollout).
