Robots Trained by Humans and Simulation
⊲ Tech Xplore ⊳ MIT’s “PhysicsGen” system from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) and the Robotics and AI Institute converts a few dozen VR-based demonstrations into nearly 3,000 simulations per robot. It remaps human hand movements onto specific robotic configurations, then applies trajectory optimisation to find efficient motions. These high‑quality, robot‑specific datasets led to stronger performance in both simulated and real-world tests, enhancing accuracy and recoverability without requiring new demonstrations for each machine.
