⊲ PYMNTS ⊳ Global eyewear leader EssilorLuxottica has reported a significant increase in sales of its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which rose by over 200% in the first half of the year. The company is collaborating with Meta to develop AI-enabled eyewear, including the upcoming Oakley Meta AI glasses, which will feature high-definition recording and built-in speakers. They are also expanding their Nuance Audio technology, which integrates hearing aid functions into smart glasses. “We are leading the transformation of glasses as the next computing platform, one where AI, sensory tech and a data-rich healthcare infrastructure will converge to empower humans and unlock our full potential,” EssilorLuxottica said in the release.
