Teleoperated Domestic Robot
⊲ Engadget ⊳ 1X Technologies has unveiled NEO, a 5’6″ humanoid robot designed for home use, priced at $20,000 or via monthly subscription. It features soft-body mechanics, articulated hands, and operates largely through remote human teleoperation. Though marketed as a household helper, many tasks are currently executed by VR-controlled operators. Privacy tools like face-blurring are included, but reliance on human input limits its true autonomy. Shipments are expected to begin in 2026.
