Varjo Stops Supporting Old XR

⊲ XR Today ⊳ Varjo has announced it will stop supporting its third-generation headsets, including the XR-3, VR-3, and Aero, starting January 1, 2026. This decision allows the company to concentrate on its new XR-4 series. Although these headsets will still work through 2025, users will not receive updates or support after 2026. However, an “Extended Compatibility Package” can be purchased to maintain some functionality until 2028. This move follows similar announcements from Microsoft regarding the HoloLens 2, indicating a shift in the mixed reality market.
