XR Boost for US Air Force Training

Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) ⊳ The 908th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron worked with Mass Virtual from 2 to 11 June 2025 at Maxwell AFB, Alabama to create key MH‑139A Grey Wolf maintenance procedures using LiDAR and photogrammetry. The Mass Virtual crew covered a total of 19 out of 44 maintenance procedures to be digitally captured and turned into a XR task training space during this visit. The resulting XR modules will let maintainers train virtually without removing aircraft from active duty, helping reservists gain hands‑on experience safely. Maxwell AFB will soon join 135 other Defence Department installations using the Air Education and Training Command’s Integrated Technology Platform.
