Study Suggests VR-Based Training Benefits
⊲ ScienceDirect ⊳ This paper discusses a systematic review of research on using virtual reality (VR) for immersive training. It examines how VR can enhance learning through simulations, focusing on the methods used to evaluate its effectiveness and the educational challenges involved. It found strong support for immersive procedural training and suggest an important role for embodied cognition in maximizing learning outcomes. The findings also suggest that VR offers unique benefits for training but also highlights the need for careful consideration of pedagogical approaches. The strongest results are linked to embodied learning approaches, where physical gestures align closely with task execution.
