AI-Enhanced Poster Sessions in VR

AI-Enhanced Poster Sessions in VR

Frontiers in Virtual Reality ⊳ This study by Iowa State University, Ames, USA, introduces a VR‑AI learning space that mimics academic poster sessions to help graduate students practice research communication. Participants engaged with AI agents in two tasks, presenting and reflecting, and rated the experience using questionnaires, observations and interviews. Physical, functional and psychological realism were strong, but social interaction lagged, as AI struggled with natural dialogue. The findings affirm VR‑AI’s learning potential while highlighting the need for more sophisticated conversational design.
