Digital Twins Make Buildings Smarter

⊲ Scientific Reports ⊳ This study introduces MD-DTT-BIM, a system combining digital twins, Building Information Modelling (BIM), AI, and sensor networks for smarter building operations. The digital twin here is a real-time virtual copy of the building that tracks measurements such as energy use, temperature, and air quality. Building managers can enhance their decision making through real‑time data, simulation, and predictive analytics. Experimental validation shows large gains in operational efficiency (+97.6 %), monitoring accuracy (+96.7 %), energy use (−95.3 %), occupant satisfaction (+94.3 %), and indoor environment prediction accuracy (+98.3 %).
