This space, or “esports suite”, is equipped with Alienware computers and a widescreen TV, serves as a recreational area for the crew. Although internet access at sea is limited, sailors enjoy local multiplayer games. The UK’s defence ministry has recognised esports as a military sport, aiming to enhance team bonding and attract young talent reflecting a growing acceptance of gaming within military culture.
