RAF Tests Inflight Augmented Reality

Royal Air Force | The RAF is set to trial augmented reality (AR) technology developed by Red 6 on BAE Systems‘ Hawk TMk2 aircraft to enhance pilot training. The Advanced Tactical Augmented Reality Systems (ATARS) will enable pilots to engage with virtual adversaries and simulated wing personnel during flight. Supported by the UK’s National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF), the trial aims to assess AR’s potential to improve training efficiency and reduce the need for live assets.
