In this video, the creator of Ireland-based Heritage Flight Simulation showcases advancements in Quest 3 mixed reality (MR) for a Spitfire cockpit experience. Starting with VR in 2017, they evolved the simulation with accurate cockpit models and partnered with Australia’s Flying Iron Simulations to refine the virtual plane’s details. A new pass-through MR feature blends real cockpit controls with a digital instrument panel, enhancing immersion. The result allows users to interact with both the physical and virtual environments, providing a near-authentic flight experience.
