VR Goggles Enter the Battlespace
⊲ United24 Media ⊳ Ukraine has released footage of its Sting interceptor drone successfully disabling a Russian-Iranian Shahed UAV mid-flight. Reportedly operated via VR goggles, the quadcopter-style Sting engaged the target above the cloud layer using thermal imaging. Experts confirmed the downed drone was a genuine Shahed, not a decoy. First introduced in October 2024, the Sting offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional air defence systems, being significantly cheaper than the drones it intercepts. Future models are expected to incorporate AI-guided targeting.
