Miami Hosts Immersive XR Conference

⊲ University of Miami News ⊳ The University of Miami hosted Miami XR 2026, a two-day conference exploring XR across education, healthcare, and entertainment. Organised by UMverse, the event drew educators and experts nationwide, including Walt Disney Imagineering executives who spoke about immersive storytelling and accelerating innovation. Students showcased VR projects ranging from Everglades conservation simulations to Overtown neighbourhood history tours. With 55 university classes now using XR technology, organisers aim to ensure every student gains experience with immersive tools before graduating.
