US Army Drone Training & Simulation

⊲ U.S. Army ⊳ Using OneArc’s VBS4 simulation software, Fort Benning’s Maneuver Centre of Excellence has added a 10-hour virtual drone familiarisation course to its One-Station Unit Training programme. Modelled on the 75th Ranger Regiment’s Ranger Robotics Lethality Course, the simulation allows large numbers of soldiers to train at scale without the cost of live flights and is designed to take a Soldier from basic ‘buttonology’ to advanced tactical reconnaissance and kinetic strikes. The goal is to familiarise all soldiers with drone combat warfare whilst also identifying those with high proficiency for advancement to the formal sUAS Operators Course.
