Newzoo | The global games market is set to grow modestly in 2024, with revenue projected to reach $187.7 billion, a 2.1% year-on-year increase according to Newzoo’s latest report. Despite declining global playtime, major studios continue to dominate revenues. PC gaming will lead in revenue growth for 2024, while mobile gaming remains the largest segment at $92.6 billion. The U.S. and China will account for nearly half of the global market, though emerging regions like Latin America and the Middle East will experience higher growth rates. The report also forecasts continued market expansion to $213.3 billion by 2027.
Editor’s Comment – Perhaps a little lull in the gaming industry but it remains hugely significant in terms of revenue, global reach and a driver of technology.
