Mannequin Revolutionises Military Surgical Training
Forces News | The Surgical Anatomy Model (SAM) is a highly realistic trauma simulation mannequin designed to enhance military medical training. Created by Professor Ian Pallister, SAM can simulate a wide range of injuries, including gunshot wounds and blast injuries, and features lifelike qualities such as a pulse and warm, bleeding ‘blood’. SAM is modular, reusable, and designed to allow repeated surgical practice, making it a valuable tool for maintaining medical skills both in training and in deployed settings. Future versions will include more gender and ethnic diversity.
