AR Brings Future Buildings to Life

Tech Xplore ⊳ Researchers at SINTEF and NTNU have developed an augmented reality (AR) application that allows users to visualise unbuilt architectural designs within their actual environments. In a study at Oslo’s Voldsløkka secondary school, participants used the app to explore how various façade materials on a proposed sports hall would impact CO₂ emissions. This immersive experience enhanced understanding and engagement with sustainable architecture, demonstrating AR’s potential to inform environmentally conscious design choices.
