NVIDIA Unveils Open-Source Automotive Simulations and Tools

NVIDIA Newsroom ⊳ NVIDIA unveiled on 5 January the Alpamayo family of open-source AI models, simulation tools and datasets to support autonomous vehicle development. The core vision-language-action model enables vehicles to perceive, reason and respond to complex driving conditions with explainable decision logic. AlpaSim provides the closed-loop, physics-based simulation environment used to train, test and refine the model against rare and challenging scenarios. The integrated ecosystem aims to support progress towards safe level 4 autonomy, with early engagement from automotive partners including JLR, Lucid and Uber. NVIDIA believe this technology could be exploited beyond the automotive sector.
