AR Supports Demanding Orthopaedic Procedure

⊲ Wirral Globe ⊳ Spire Murrayfield Hospital Wirral has performed the UK’s first revision total knee replacement using Pixee augmented reality technology. Consultant surgeon Alan Highcock carried out the procedure, which overlays digital guidance onto the surgeon’s view in real time to improve implant alignment and positioning. Unlike robotic or traditional computer-assisted systems, Pixee AR requires no bulky equipment or invasive markers. Revision knee replacements are among the most demanding orthopaedic procedures.
