VR Walkaround Trainer Gets Approval
⊲ Cineon ⊳ UK emotion-aware technology company Cineon reports that the UK Civil Aviation Authority has approved its TACET Walkaround as an Other Training Device, described as the first VR-based pilot training device cleared by the regulator. The system places trainees in a repeatable virtual pre-flight inspection, using eye tracking and AI to assess attention, hazard detection and scanning performance. Jet2.com has installed the headset-based trainer at its Manchester and Bradford centres, marking the first airline adoption of the approved system.
