CEO Angus Pacala has stated the aim is to make cameras obsolete. Currently supplied to partners including Google and drone firm Skydio, the technology targets robotics and autonomous vehicles, but its potential for photography is significant. Chinese rival Hesai has announced a comparable platform, signalling a competitive race.
