3D Printing Cuts Simulator Production Costs

⊲ VoxelMatters ⊳ Wraith Systems has expanded production of its F-35 desktop Hands-On Throttle-And-Stick pilot training system by adopting 3D printing, raising output to 75 units each month while cutting labour, costs and manufacturing time. Working with 3D Systems, the company replaced labour-intensive casting with additive manufacturing, supporting growing demand for realistic pilot training devices. Wraith Systems now plans to expand into UAVs and other training devices.
The $483,735 saving across 813 units shows how additive manufacturing can outcompete injection moulding for niche, low-volume defence hardware.
