Royal Navy Accelerates Warfighting Readiness

Halldale ⊳ Project Selborne, the Royal Navy’s £1.26 billion shore based training programme, is preparing for Epoch 3, due to begin in April 2027, with a focus on faster warfighting readiness and networked simulation. Prime contractor Capita and partner Metaverse VR outlined plans to cut the time needed to turn operational lessons into updated training to just 30 days. The programme also supports the Royal Navy’s hybrid Navy concept, combining crewed ships with autonomous systems, and aims to expand connected simulation across bridge, operations room and machinery trainers.
Folding 27 separate contracts into one enterprise across 14 establishments shows how far Selborne has consolidated Royal Navy training since 2021.
