Meta’s Slimmer Headset Images Leaked

⊲ Road to VR ⊳ Images of Meta’s Project Phoenix mixed reality headset have leaked ahead of its expected unveiling at Meta Connect on 23 and 24 September. Serial leaker Luna found firmware footage within Quest’s Horizon OS showing prescription lenses developed with Zenni Optical, alongside sideways and downward facing sensors on the temple, the latter possibly intended for face tracking. The images also confirm hand and eye tracking and a hybrid design offloading compute to a cable tethered unit, positioning Phoenix as Meta’s next generation follow up to Quest 3 and 3S.
⊲ Should Meta avoid the Quest 4 name entirely, it would confirm a deliberate step away from gaming and toward prosumer and enterprise buyers. ⊳
