AI Plays Game Without Any Visuals

⊲ Tom’s Hardware ⊳ OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra has cleared the Orc starting zone in World of Warcraft in 40 minutes without a death, and without seeing a single rendered frame. Instead of watching the screen, the model read the game’s raw network traffic and mined quest data directly from the AzerothCore private server’s SQL files, the data the world itself runs on. Working from a single prompt with agent-wow, an open-source client that supplies no movement, combat or interaction mechanics, it built its own module to capture 28 types of server message and a pathfinding helper using the server’s navigation meshes. It also exploited map bugs where collision may have been missing. The developer’s end goal is a server filled with AI agents attempting Icecrown Citadel on heroic difficulty.
