Google Brings Coding-Free Game Creation

⊲ TechCrunch ⊳ Google Labs has launched Playground, an experimental platform that lets users build browser-based games from simple text prompts without coding. Creators choose a genre or start from scratch, select 2D or 3D and single-player or multiplayer, then describe mechanics, gameplay and visual style, with uploaded images converted into matching game assets. Games run on mobile and desktop and can stay private, be shared by link or published to an Explore gallery. Unity Spark integration is planned. Playground is initially available to over-18s in the US, using a weekly token system.
◂ Planned Unity Spark integration suggests Google sees prompt-built games as a pathway into professional engines and trainer-driven content rather than a separate hobbyist sandbox. ▸
