Simulators Support More Car Testing in Less Time

⊲ Ford From the Road ⊳ Ford’s Product Development Simulator, launched in 2020 in Dearborn USA, allows engineers to run ten times more tests in a tenth of the time compared to real-world testing. Virtual environments replicate conditions from frozen tundra to desert, and damage can be reset instantly. Every Ford programme has used the facility, which now spans global sites. The ADAS team uses it for ‘hands-off, eyes-on’ BlueCruise development, and off-road simulation work is under way, with supplier capabilities being integrated into the Ford Simulator ecosystem.
