Stressful VR Sharpens Firefighter Focus

⊲ Frontiers in Virtual Reality ⊳ This study explores how immersive virtual reality can simulate stressful scenarios to assess and potentially enhance firefighter readiness. By analysing gaze entropy and pupil dilation, the research reveals how attention and physiological responses shift under pressure. Findings suggest that stress-inducing VR environments not only offer a realistic training tool but also provide measurable data on cognitive load and situational awareness – key factors in evaluating and improving performance in high-risk professions.
