Rail Training Goes Virtual

⊲ Transport for Wales ⊳ Transport for Wales (TfW) reports it is the first UK train operator to introduce VR-based training for front-line staff, using a simulation of the new Class 197 trains. Staff can rehearse dispatching, whistle use, incident response and communications in a classroom before progressing to live practice. Developed with Scottish company Denova, the system aims to smooth the transition between theory and on-the-job learning.
