RAF’s Future Virtual Battlespace

⊲ SSBCrack News ⊳ A senior RAF officer has claimed that future wars may increasingly play out in virtual and augmented reality as militaries shift from armament build‑up to rapid simulation, modelling and experimentation. Speaking at a recent event hosted by the Royal United Services Institute, Air Vice-Marshal James Beck, the RAF’s director of capabilities and programmes, urged the UK military to accelerate the adoption of simulation, especially given Russia’s aggressive posture as a “pacing threat” to the UK. While progress is being made, achieving realism and seamless integration in simulation training systems is an ongoing struggle, complicated by security constraints and technological hurdles, Beck acknowledged.
