Siemens Brings Switchboards Into Augmented Reality

Siemens ⊳ Siemens has developed SidiroAR, a free mobile application that lets engineers visualise low-voltage switchgear in augmented reality. Built by a Polish technical support team, the tool converts 3D models created in Simaris Configuration and Autodesk Inventor into AR-ready files viewable on Android and iOS devices. Manufacturers can display switchgear at true scale before production, checking busbar routing, device installation and cable depth. Siemens states the approach helps licensed Sivacon partners spot design collisions early, reducing costly modifications during final assembly.
