AI Creates a Video Game

Eurogamer | Google has achieved a milestone by replicating a playable version of Doom using a neural network. The AI, developed by Google’s research team, generates the game based on video clips of Doom human gameplay. This neural model, called GameNGen, outputs the game at 20fps with visual quality close to the original. Although humans are still needed to provide initial gameplay footage, this development signals a new era in game engines where games might be automatically generated by AI, raising questions about future game creation and human involvement in the process.
