Fly the Earth in your Browser
⊲ CNET ⊳ Google Earth’s flight simulator, a hidden Easter egg buried in its desktop app since 2007, is now freely available to all users via web browser with no download required. Anyone can open earth.google.com, navigate to a location, and select Flight Simulator from the Tools menu. Two aircraft are on offer: an F-16 fighter jet and a Cirrus SR22. Physics are simplified, built for casual sightseeing rather than serious simulation. Google labels the feature experimental, so it may change or be withdrawn.
