Hands On Android XR Glasses

⊲ Android Central ⊳ Writer Derrek Lee tried two Android XR display glasses at Google I/O 2026: Xreal’s Project Aura and Google’s monocular prototype used as the reference design for Samsung’s upcoming glasses. Project Aura impressed him with dual OLED displays, gesture control, and crisp visuals via electrochromic dimming, plus a Snapdragon-powered external puck for battery and compute. Google’s single-lens prototype offered Google Maps turn-by-turn overlays and Gemini AI photo editing. Both Samsung and Xreal plan commercial launches later in 2026.
