USAF T-7A Red Hawk Goes LVC
⊲ Halldale ⊳ The US Air Force has completed its first live-virtual-constructive training flight linking a Boeing–Saab T-7A Red Hawk aircraft with two ground-based simulators. Secure data links enabled airborne pilots and simulator instructors to share flight information, sensor activity and simulated weapons employment in real time. Ground-based crews can operate as virtual wingmen or adversaries, introducing simulated missile threats, electronic warfare and hostile aircraft. The demonstration establishes a foundation for modernising pilot training as the T-7A prepares to replace the ageing T-38 fleet.
◂ Building LVC into the T-7A syllabus from the outset means a generation of American pilots will treat simulated adversaries as routine rather than novel. ▸
