Survey Finds Over 37% Deploy XR in Training

Varjo ⊳ Varjo’s State of XR in Simulation Training 2026 report, drawing on survey responses from over 100 defence and training professionals, finds that extended reality has shifted firmly from experimentation to operational deployment. More than a third of organisations already use immersive systems in regular training, with blended extended reality and mixed reality formats each adopted by over 56% of respondents. Visual clarity and ergonomics top hardware priorities. Reliability issues, procurement complexity, and skills gaps remain the main barriers. AI-driven analytics and networked simulation are expected to reshape military readiness programmes.
