Lightweight LiDAR Gives Drones Real Time Vision

⊲ NextGen Defense ⊳ MicroVision has introduced lightweight LiDAR sensors designed to give UAVs real-time 3D mapping and onboard perception. MOVIA Air supports obstacle avoidance, autonomous landing and target tracking, with its weight halved from the industrial version. MOVIA Air Plus adds edge processing, optional imaging and in-flight mapping, removing the need for post-flight processing. Chief executive Glen DeVos said the range targets autonomous aerial logistics, defence and inspection markets.
