Samsung Advances Premium Wearable Technology

⊲ Seoul Economic Daily ⊳ Samsung Electronics used Galaxy Unpacked 2026 to launch “Intelligent Eyewear” AI glasses and the “Galaxy Watch Ultra2”, pitching both as anchors of a premium wearable strategy. Vice president Choi Jae-in said the glasses should outlast Ray-Ban Meta’s eight-hour battery by an extra hour while weighing less than its 50 grams, aided by split computing that shares processing with a paired smartphone and watch. Around 200 patents cover the hinge, frame and speakers. The Watch Ultra2 gains a 5,000 nit display, 19% faster graphics and running-focused health tracking.
Sharing processing with a paired smartphone and Galaxy Watch through split computing ties the glasses tightly into Samsung’s existing device ecosystem.
