Networked Training Prepares Infantry Crews

⊲ Rheinmetall ⊳ Rheinmetall Electronics has completed the Factory Acceptance Test in Bremen for its gunnery and combat simulator for the Bundeswehr’s Heavy Infantry Weapon Carrier, known by its German abbreviation AGSW. Each system combines a control and evaluation station with four fighting compartments, recreating vehicle logic, ballistics and driving dynamics for training from individual crew members up to platoon level. Procedural trainers reached fusilier battalions between 2025 and 2026, and five AGSW systems are due to reach users by mid-2027, allowing crews to train before the first vehicles arrive.
⊲ Letting units create their own virtual terrain moves the AGSW from schoolhouse trainer towards mission rehearsal for specific areas of operations. ⊳
