Simulators Prepare Nuclear Rail Drivers

⊲ RailAdvent ⊳ Direct Rail ServicesServices (DRS), the rail division of UK Nuclear Transport Solutions, has installed new simulators in Carlisle to prepare drivers for the European Train Control System (ECTS) being introduced across Britain’s rail network. Funded by Network Rail, the virtual cab and desktop systems reproduce real driving conditions and digital in-cab signalling. Drivers can practise varied scenarios, build familiarity with ETCS and test decision-making without affecting live railway operations, supporting their preparation as digital signalling expands across the network.
