UGVs Guided by Onboard Digital Twin

UGVs Guided by Onboard Digital Twin

⊲ Militarnyi ⊳ Ukrainian-Estonian defence company Farsight Vision has presented a navigation module that allows unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to find their way when GPS is unavailable. A laser sensor scans the surroundings while moving and compares the point cloud with a 3D digital twin of the terrain built beforehand on the FSV Platform, refining the vehicle’s position and showing operators the route’s actual condition in real time. By year end the company aims to let UGVs return autonomously over several kilometres, later scaling to 30 to 40 km.
◂ Building the FSV Platform terrain model before a vehicle moves turns digital twin preparation into a frontline logistics task rather than a back office exercise. ▸
